Romanian Elections - 2025
On the occasion of the inauguration of Romania’s new president, I would like to express, as President of the Romanian Canadian Chamber of Commerce, my sincere hope that this new mandate will be marked by responsibility, balance, and a strong commitment to national values.
The election of a new head of state is always a moment for reflection, but also a renewed opportunity for hope—hope for a more united, just, and forward-looking Romania, better connected to the global democratic and economic community.
As a representative of the Romanian Canadian business community, and as a Romanian living abroad, I firmly believe that Romania needs leaders who will put the public interest first, strengthen the rule of law, and respect all citizens—whether they live at home or abroad.
Romanians in the diaspora, including those in Canada, are watching this new presidential term with great attention and hope. We expect coherent policies and an open attitude toward international partnerships, especially in the economic sphere. It is essential for Romania to remain a trusted partner globally, and a country that builds its future through dialogue, transparency, and professionalism.
We hope to see a stable, open, and competitive Romania—one where the law is respected, and where the country’s economic future is shaped by cooperation and mutual trust. I wish the new president strength, wisdom, and courage in facing the challenges ahead.
